Kobato is sweet and perky girl, but also extremely naive about the world around her. She has a “mission”, which is to fill a mysterious bottle of hers with the suffering from people’s hearts so her wish to go a certain place that she desires to go can be granted. However, she must not fall in love with a particular boy she works with and whose heart she must heal.
My First Impressions:
Sugary Cute! That was my first thought…
So… we have this girl who comes from where? To live among humans and to act like a human. Where ever Kobata Hanato comes from, she has to pass a test to see if she can stay in the human world.
She has a Proctor [a plushie(?) who’s in charge of her] Loryogi, who is going to administer the test to see if she passes so that she can obtain a special flask to collect broken hearts in.
The purpose of her doing so, is that she can fulfill a wish – to go to a place she desires to go. [Like how it’s ‘mums’ on that part in this first episode! It kept me watching to end to find out. LOL!]

Poor Kobato… she is so naive, so innocent, you wonder how is she going to make it in the human world? Loryogi is so harsh on her. Such a meanie! He frightens her to death and when he wants to punish her, he shoots a fireball out of his mouth. This is her Proctor, so the poor thing gotta deal with it. Kobato’s first initial test, was to act like a human in a Park on a Spring Day. Kobato’s intake was to take some newspaper out of the trash and act like a Homeless Person sleeping on a bench! She’s fails, followed by a fireball shot from Loryogi. Ha!

The two leave the Park with Loryogi chastising her along the way. They bumped into a woman lugging garbage away and fretting about being late for the bus. As she passes by, she dropped one of the bags of trash and it becomes another test for Kobato. She goes around a corner to the dumpster where she reads a sign that states be thoughtful and throw out as little trash as possible. Loryogi thinks she’s about to toss the trash, when Kobato looks up and sees a crowd of Crows. Thinking about the sigh, Kobato offers the trash to the Crows and they swarmed down upon her. Poor thing. LOL so funny! Afterwards, she gathering her composure and she’s confronted by two guys who offers to buy her a drink. Kobato willingly follows them and Loryogi fires a shot at them. Kobato runs to the down guys to apologize when one is about to hit her and up shows another guy who defends her [later to be known as Fujimoto]. The guy brushes off Kobato’s gratitude.

Later, at a Cherry Blossom Festival, the guy who helped Kobato earlier Fujimoto, is working at a Food Stand, when he gets a call and had to rush off. Kobato and Loryogi enters the area. Kobato gets herself into trouble when she tried to throw a ball back to some kids and the ball ended up knocking over some dishes of food at the food stand where Fujimoto works. She apologizes profusely and to pay for the dishes, she offers to help out. All is going well, until… a customer asked her to help with his hotpot by adding some ingredients. This becomes another test for her. Kobato adds everything but the kitchen sink to the hotspot. O.O Believe it or not, the dish comes out good and the customers are happy, and she passes the test! Evening comes, and Kobato and Loryogi is walking among the cherry trees when they come across a elder woman with her crying grandchild. The woman explained that at night she takes the baby on a stroll to keep it from disturbing the neighbors. She goes on to state that it’s Mother’s singing usually calms him/her. Kobato sings for the baby, and unknowing, draws a crowds. In the end, the baby is happy and the crowd wanted her to sing more.
Back at the Park where Kobato and her proctor first appears, she wants to know if she passed the test. Meanie Loryogi tells her she had failed. As Kobato is airing her grievances to Loryogi, the elder woman shows up and thanks Kobato for her singing, and looks forward to hearing her singing again. After she leaves, a light appears from the sky, and it’s the flask Kobato needs. Loryogi stated that she had passed due to the elder woman thanking her. It reaffirms Kobato’s mission to her: To fill the flask with broken hearts and then she can fulfill her wish: to go to the place she wants to go.
End of episode.

I thought it was a good first episode. It definitely had it’s funny parts; the whole episode was funny. Unfortunately, it’s not a series I will be blogging on. However, I definitely recommend this series. It has potential to becoming (from what I’ve seen in the first episode) one of the top 10 of the Fall Releases. Will keep watching, but just not blogging on it.
Rating: 8.5/10
And now it’s time to move on to another “First Lookie.”
Laters!
Howdy Folks!
They still love me though!
After spending much "webbing" time on my other site, I'm now going to give attention to this site!
Yay!

Thinking my new Spam Guard is working waaaayyyyy better than I expected! LOL!

“becoming one of the top 10 of Fall releases” Kobato does give that impression.
Based on the first episode Kobato does seem like a great anime. Much to love not much to hate. It was already on my watch list even before the episode was over to be frank.
