Murasame Sumika is popular in the high school for her excellence in the marks and sports. However, she has a secret: she is in love with her classmate Kazama Ushio. Ushio also has a liking to the love between girls, but she hasn’t noticed Sumika’s feeling and always been refused by other girls.
My Impressions:
Well, it’s not Aoi Hana…
Another season, another Shoujo-ai series. Taking the first lookie at Sasameki Koto, went in with no expectations and no comparing to Aoi Hana from last Season.
I’m really taking lookies at series I wouldn’t have done so in the past. Guess my Anime Palate is opening up. Not a bad thing.
Anyhoo, this series is about a girl who secretly likes her best friend, who – only likes cute girls. Not average, but cute. The series opens up with the friends Sumi-chan and Kazama-chan along with a third, Hiyori-chan having lunch, and Kazama opens up with the question, Why can’t girls love each other… to which shocks Hiyori. Doesn’t shock Sumi none because it’s something she’s known about already. She asked Kazama who was the latest, and Kazama replies that it was a secret. After lunch, Hiyori asked Kazama why she didn’t go to an all girl school and Sumi replied that she did, but at the interview, she blurted out the reasoning was that she liked cute girls. Ha. And Hiyori puts herself on the block:

hahahahahahaha that part was just too cute! ^_^ But alas, Kazama states that she only likes cute girls. This statement perturbs Sumi. In the school library where Kazama works, it’s reveal that the girl she likes is her Senpai, who works along side her. Sumi is also in the library and figures it out.

The next day at lunch, Kazama goes on and on about the Senpai she likes. Sumi, annoyed with the conversation tells Kazama about her always “one-sided” affairs. This pisses off Kazama and she leaves. Later, while waiting for Kazama to finish at the library, Sumi is waiting outside for her.
In the library, the Senpai is helping Kazama put away some books when she asked her if she liked somebody. Kazama replied not really and the Senpai goes on to tell her that there was somebody in her class that liked her and that he asked her to asked Kazama was in liked with somebody. The Senpai starts crying, and Kazama goes to console her, when the Senpai slaps away her hand and glares at her with crying eyes.
Sumi goes into the library to find a crying Kazama and comforts her. They get over their little spat and are friends again. End of Episode. Short review… isn’t it?

The Senpai likes the very boy who likes Kazama.

With a few scenes to tied it all together in between, the first episode was okay. Love the scenes, very well made. Don’t think this is a series I’ll be following. It’s basically on the bottom of my list. But I do recommend it because it had a good storyline for what it’s worth and it’s cutesy. I can see the laughs and the drama to come. I don’t want to say that it’s looking on the predictable side; but it does. I would be totally shocked if I watch the last three episodes and it didn’t turn out the way I expected.
Rating: 8.0/10
And I’m done with the first lookies for now.
Laters.

Howdy Folks!
They still love me though!
After spending much "webbing" time on my other site, I'm now going to give attention to this site!
Yay!

Thinking my new Spam Guard is working waaaayyyyy better than I expected! LOL!

[...] takes particular note of the scene where it is established that Ushio only likes cute girls which, by implication, Hiyori [...]
Aoi Hana didn’t turn out the way I expected. It revolved around a main character and a sub character…Sasameki koto, After watching the first episode, makes me wonder if Sumi will end up like Akira of Aoi Hana, only watching/comforting her bestfriend. It’s pretty ironic too, Fumi and Sumi, LOL. Anyways, as a yuri fan boy I expect much from Sasameki Koto. Though I think it won’t make me cry like Kannazuki no Miko did, I’ll definitely finish the series. Thumbs Up, Sasameki Koto.
@Yuri-boy: did you see episode 2 yet? LOL it definitely had a twist to it!
