Kyaaa!!!  Can’t believe I got sucked into this series… AGAIN!!!  -_-  LOL

Episode 2 opens up to a fleeing Kagura remembering InuYasha’s words that he would get her heart back from Naraku and don’t die before such time.  At their old home, Sango and Kohaku are praying over their father’s grave.  Kohaku is full of deep regret and he’s not able to forgive himself.  Sango wondered was it too soon that she brought him there.  Meanwhile, Myoga brought InuYasha, Kagome and Miroku to the cave of Midoriko, the Priestess who’s soul became the Shikon Jewel.  There was an unexplained anomaly occurring in the cave.  In the chest of Midoriko’s stone corpse, there appeared to be a shining crystal.  They tried to get closer to see what it was but a barrier prevented them from doing so.  InuYasha smelled a faint familiar scent and he began to wonder about it.

While the gang was in the cave, Koga and his wolf pack that consists of the two that always follow him, enters a Demonic Wolf’s cemetery, looking for a device called Goraishi that was hidden there.  He wants the device so that he could defeat Naraku and Moryomaru.   While Koga searches for the Goraishi, InuYasha’s group has taken shelter in an old hut while InuYasha stayed in the cave to keep watch on the glowing crystal thingy.  Shippo makes a statement that InuYasha was too eager to stay behind in the cave and Myoga chimes in that he tried to stay with him, but InuYasha kicked him out.  Miroku states that the barrier did not seemed evil, but rather pure.  After he makes that statement, Kagome begins to think it had something to do with Kikyo.  Back at the cave, the crystal hatches into a soul collector and it flies away with the soul of Midoriko and InuYasha follows behind it.  At a waterfall, Kikyo is standing in the water realizing that Naraku’s miasma was being persistent and the purification healing Kagome gave her was not enough.  InuYasha appears at the waterfall and asked Kikyo what she wanted with Midoriko’s soul.  She shows him the wound Naraku gave her at Mt. Hakurei.  It had opened back up.  The reason why she took Midoriko’s soul was to defeat Naraku.  Kikyo goes on to say that she and Midoriko shared the same soul.  Midoriko’s soul enters Kikyo’s body and the wound closes.  Back at the hut, Kagome feels something and notices the Shikon shard embedded in Kohaku’s neck was glowing.

Kohaku takes off and everyone follows behind him.  Kohaku follows after some of Kikyo’s soul collectors.  Miroku said it seems the soul collectors were guiding him.  A barrier appears, preventing them from going any further.  Sango calls out to her brother to come back and he yells to her not to worry.  Kohaku realized the shard was telling him to go.  He finds himself near Kikyo and InuYasha by the waterfall.   The shards in Koga’s legs also began to glow and made his legs feel heavy and he wondered what was going on.

After her wound closes, Kikyo dresses and prepares to leave.  InuYasha wants her to wait until he defeats Naraku.  Kikyo informs him that Naraku cannot be killed by a sword; in order for him to be defeated, the Shikon Jewel has to be completed.  Once Naraku obtains the completed jewel, it will be defiled by his hands and infused with him.  When this happens, the jewel and Naraku can be purified together since Naraku has no real body and that he was born when the demons entered the soul of Onigumo.  Kikyo stated she had no time to waste and takes off, leaving InuYasha wondering if she could take Kohaku’s life being that he has one of the shards.  Kohaku shows himself to InuYasha and tells him that he was going.  He wasn’t going to die; he was going to defeat Naraku.  Just as InuYasha was about to follow him, a barrier goes up.  As he’s running away, Kohaku tells InuYasha to take care of Sango.

In another scene, Moryomaru devours a turtle demon name Meioju.  The infant [Naraku’s soul] inside of Moryomaru tells him to do it.  The shell of the turtle demon was like a super strong armor.  Back at the Demon Wolves cemetery, Koga and his men are attack by a three-headed wolf demon that materialized out of the ground.  The Goraishi – a clawed device that he was looking for is behind the demon and they refused to let him pass.  Koga fights with the demon and is able to get pass it.  As his do so, his men are attack by the demon and is about to get consumed by fire when Koga decides to save them instead of obtaining the Goraishi.  The demon asked why did he not sacrifice his men and take the Goraishi.  It had disappeared.  Koga angrily tells the demon that he would not sacrifice his men for it.  The demon attacks again, and this time the Goraishi appears on Koga’s hand and he defeats it.  The souls of the Demon Wolves tells Koga that the Goraishi was his, and they will only protect him from the one that controls the shards.

The scene cuts to Kagura who is confronted by Naraku and he tells her that he will set her free.  Kagura is leery of him until her heart appears in his hand.  Her heart is placed back into her body and  Naraku then attacks Kagura and fills her body with miasma.  An mortally injured Kagura flies away from him.  Meanwhile Sesshomaru and his party is confronted by the newly armored Moryomaru.  A battle ensues, and in the middle, a dying Kagura sits in a field of flowers.  Some of the flowers become petals stained with her blood and her scent and flies away.  In Moryomaru’s grasp, Sesshomaru sees one of the petals and Moryomaru commented that Kagura was dead.  Sesshomaru takes a final blow at Moryomaru cutting through the armor and his sword breaks.  An injured Moryomaru disappears in a misama cloud.  Sesshomaru takes off leaving Jaken and Rin and appears before Kagura.  She is happy to see him.  Sesshomaru knew that the Tenseiga could not save her.  Kagura begin to dissipate in a misama cloud.  Before she disappears, she has a smile on her face.  InuYasha and his group arrives at the end and he asks Sesshomaru if Kagura suffered.  Sesshomaru replied that she died with a smile on her face. 

End of episode.

It was a good episode.  Kagura was one of my favorite characters and it saddened me a bit that she died.  To my surprise, it seemed that Sesshomaru showed some compassion as she was dying.  Why didn’t those two ever get together?  Anyhoo…I can say I’m “Officially Suckered In” to blogging on this series.  LOL  as long as I can find subbed episodes, I shall do so.
