This is shaping into a great series! 

I like this series.  It is a change from the norm and the storyline is brilliant!  Yes… I said brilliant!  Why?  Because here you have:

• a girl that’s been living a introverted life because everyone mistakes her looks as that of a character from a movie, they consider her to be quite scary, and to be avoided at all cost…
• a popular boy who everyone likes to be around because of his happy-go-lucky persona and he finds the ‘so-called’ creepy girl of the class… interesting.  He knows that she’s being misunderstood, but discarding his popular reputation (thus far), he wants to be around her.

And there you have… a brilliant formula for a good series.  The one thing that I really like about it so far, is the “capturing of Sawako’s facial expressions.”  They are so funny to watch.  Kinda reminds me of Skip Beat in that sense.  Totally not comparing the two.

In this episode 2, Sawako is walking to school on a raining day and she comes across an abandoned puppy and she shelters it from the rain with her umbrella.  The puppy upon first looking at her, becomes offensive and begins to start barking at her.  She continues on her way in the rain getting drenched.  At school, she comes upon some girls in the bathroom and they’re talking about how Kazehaya has rejected her.  Sawako still believing in her motto of “doing a good everyday,” says good morning to them and they runs away.  Sawako wants to start breaking down the walls around her and begin interacting with her classmates and others around her.  One of the reasoning for doing so is Kazehaya making how shall I call this…  first contact with her and she’s admired him and respected him since.  Kazehaya also gets caught in the rain and when he sees a wet Sawako, he walks up to her and says good morning and then inquire if she had an extra change of clothing.  Sawako didn’t.  He asked Yoshida-chan if she had extra gym clothing and was shocked to see that Sawako didn’t.  She goes through her locker and comes out with a sweat shirt that hasn’t been worn in a while.  All the generosity given to her by her classmates, touches Sawako. As Kazehaya changed into dry clothes, one of the classmates tells him that he didn’t have to worry about Sawako and that he shouldn’t feel so bad about rejecting her.  Kazehaya tells him he didn’t reject her and he starts to remember meeting Sawako as she was on her way to help the teacher.  Sawako mistaken his request of seeing her over the summer as one of seeing her at summer classes.  She goes on to say how much she admired and respected him and her feeling will not change from that.  This disappointed and sadden Kazehaya as he realized she had mistaken his intentions of seeing her on a personal visits.   At lunch, she sits cartons of various juices and drinks on Yoshida and Yano-chan’s desk and one on Kazehaya.  He was moved by the fact the drink came from Sawako.  Kazehaya notices she has a carton of milk.  She tells him she was going to give it to an abandoned puppy she saw on her way to school.  He inquires if it was the same puppy he saw.  As they are talking, three girls were talking about the rejection rumor again, and one girl in particular, flinches.

After school, he shows Sawako the puppy and it’s the same one she was talking about; her umbrella was still sheltering it.  Kazehaya asked her if she mind that he took the puppy.  The puppy growls at Sawako [LOL] and she tells him that it’s something that she’s used to: kids and animals being scare of her.  Kazehaya stated that if he shows it that they’re good friends, it will become friends with her too.  When the two parted ways to go home, Sawako asked Kazehaya if it was okay if she came to see the puppy sometimes.  He replied was the puppy the only one she would come to see.  She tells him of course she would come by to see him too and he laughs.

The next morning, Sawako has three packs of cookies she made the night before to give to Yano, Yoshida and Kazehaya for their generosity the day before.    Preparing for the math class to start, Sawako moves to another seat and two girls were at her desk when one of them tells her that it was Sadako’s (Sawako) desk.  Of course, they are talking bad about her and Sawako tries to assure them that nothing bad was going to happen.  After she finished, she realized they were gone.  Yano looks on at this.   The Teacher tells everyone there was going to be a seating change and they [the students] needed to do it amongst themselves.  He looked ill and walks out of the class.  Some students begin to wondered why and one realized that Sawako was the one that helped him over the summer. 

Everyone picks and no one wanted to sit next to, in front of, or behind Sawako.   As she sits there with tears in her eyes from being hurt by their words, Kazehaya trades his seat number for the one next to hers and Yano takes the one in front of her, a guy takes the one in back of her — Yoshida wants to fight with him about it, and he stubbornly refuses to give the seat up and she takes the one in front of Kazehaya.  Seeing that these classmates didn’t mind being around her, she gives them the cookies she made and to their surprised, they were very good.  Even the guy sitting behind Sawako wanted some too.  Sawako is so happy to be in that seat.

On her way home, Kazehaya stops her and the two are seen chatting by the same three girls.  The one that flinched, she has this ‘no way’ expression on her face when she sees them chatting.  The two parts way and that’s the end of the episode!

This was a great episode.  It allowed me to picked it apart as I watched it.  Well, another one in my opinion to make it in the Best Top Ten of the Fall Season list.  The best part, one of my favorite fabsubs has picked up the series!!! Show ▼
