Comedy, Drama, Robot Girls
Keiichiro-kun finds a robot girl called a “Parents” in a garbage heap and takes her home with him.
CAG Impression:
A year and some days later and finally subbed, I can now give a “First Lookie” on it!
This was a good Ova! Reminded me a bit of “Chobits.” Moetan illustrator POP designed and supervised the project under his ElectromagneticWave dōjin brand.
Well, on with the review.

A guy was sheltering himself from the rain one night and see a robot girl known as “Parents” sitting in a chair among a heap of trash and she was holding a sunflower. He takes her to a repair shop where the repairman tell the guy that the model was old and the manufacturer did not have the parts he needed. He gives him a ‘Parent’s trash slip’. The guy was about to leave the store when the repairman told him the slip costs 200 yen. [LOL] He takes the girl home with him and places her in a room filled with trash and goes to bed. At some point during the night, the robot is reactivated and awakens. She wondered where she was at. In the morning, he wakes up to the smell of food and go downstairs to see her in the kitchen cooking.

Such a cute little cheerful thing!
While having breakfast, he tells her how he found her in the trash and she asked him to please take care of her. She wondered what her name was and he names her “Flower” after the sunflower that she was clutching. He tells her his name was Keiichiro. Flower had made rice omelets for breakfast and over did it with hot sauce. LOL [That part was funny!] Flower has now become the child of Keiichiro’s residence. She goes about cleaning the house and in his room she find a girly magazine and marvels at the pictures. Inside one room filled with stack magazines, she finds a guitar. Plucking one of the strings, she declared that it was crying. Keiichiro explains to her that it is a guitar and how it works. She thinks it’s a singing tool. She gives him the guitar and asked that he sing. He put the guitar back down and told her that they were going out.
At a fruit/vegetable stand, he try to teach her about money. The store owner commented Flower was an old model. A man and his robot girl walks up and she calculates how much the purchase was and the change. Flower is worried by what the shop owner said and she stated to Keiichiro that she will do her best. He tell her in return that he had no plans of throwing her away. This made her very happy.

Flower’s memory is lacking and Keiichiro thought of a way to help her improve it by giving her a daily journal for her to write down her day-to-day activities. Each day to her was was fun. She made friends with other kids and she keep account of all the things that her and Keiichiro did together. Flower’s daily account of she and Keiichiro does is so cute. Love the part when she enters the bathhouse offering to wash his back and it full of other men. Ha! One night he takes Flower to a festival where they run into an ex-band mate. Keiichiro seemed bothered by seeing him and he leads Flower away. The guy yells to him that he could call to talk to him about anything.
On one of those days, she sits with Keiichiro as he said a prayer to his family that was killed in an automobile accident. She asked who they were, and he told her it was his family that died and they were living with God and she thought it was amazing.

Since his family died, Keiichiro seemed as if the life has been sucked out of him. It’s noticed by Flower and others. She wants to know how can she make him smile like he does in the family portrait. She came up with the idea that she would sing and have him listen. In secrecy, she practiced singing until she got really good at it. Flower also has a wish to go to the sea because she saw a commercial on television.
One day while Keiichiro went to talk with is ex-band mate, Flower is home napping when she has a dream of her previous owner throwing her away. Later that night the two are watching television and the newscaster stated that due to jellyfish incidents, sea-bathing was at an all time low. Keiichiro told her he would take her next year. Flower’s disappointed, but she smiles and agrees with him. Flower mechanism begin to deteriorate. She falls over and he catches her.

Keiichiro calls the repairman. While waiting, he reads her journal and each day was described as fun. After examining her, the repairman comes out and there’s nothing that could be done. Keiichiro calls his ex-band mate to asked if he could borrow his van. He takes Flower and his guitar to the sea. Flower begin to hummed a song she heard on his computer that the band had recorded. She told him that she wanted to be a child of his home. After sitting on the beach all night, Flower ceased to function by morning.

Later, Keiichiro is in a square preparing to play his guitar. He take a music box out of his jacket and asked it to sing with him. At the end of the ova, Flower’s headphones are hanging on a sunflower that’s overlooking the sea.

The character and art design is crystal clear and well drawn. I was waiting for this to come since last year. This week, I was able to find a raw copy and do a Bakapedia page for it and this morning, checking a download site, I find a subbed copy! How about that?! Arigato Clover for subbing.
Rating: 9.5 out of 10.
That’s it in a nutshell.
