Needless Ep. 8:  Roukakuji Riru

Nani?!   O.O   I would like to see that myself!   

 After Blade in all his “Jack-assed Braun” reveals himself to Arclight, Setsuna from the Pretty Girl Squad informs Arclight that Blade was the one who defeated the Testaments and Kafka (from first episode).  Arclight is delighted that Blade is the one he is after for his body.   Down in the crowd, Cruz along with Gido and Teruyama are freaking out over what they’re going to do.  Disc make the reduction that Blade would probably be the one to save Eve after all.

Blade and Arclight begin battling each other.  Blow from blow, technique to technique, Arclight is matching Blade, but he appears to be stronger.  In the crowd, some of the Needless is questioning whether they should still be standing around waiting to be killed.  The crowd takes off running, when Riru gives an order to stop them.  In front of all the pillars surrounding Simeon, very large Testaments appears.  Riru hops on one of them and informs the crowd that they could not leave.  Three Needless decided that they could take on Riru, and she reveals her Needless power:

 Disc remembered that Riru is part of Simeon’s Elite Four who used to rule Shin-ou, another Black Spot and that she is one of the most powerful Needless.   The other Needless quickly back down when Riru holds a rather large piece of Simeon building over the crowd threatening to drop it.    The fight continues between Blade and Arclight when Arclight stopped.  He had reached his limit and then casually tell Blade that he would spare the everyone lives down in the crowd if he just turn over is body to him.  Blade suckered punched him and called him a boy.   Arclight realized that bargaining with Blade was useless and retreats back inside Simeon telling the Pretty Girl Squad to handle the rest.  Blade goes after Arclight who punches him back and in return calls him a little boy.  Arclight also states that he only played with Blade to see if his body was a good match.

Mio calls out to Blade and in his jack-assed braun follows the Pretty Girl Squad into the building where the steel door closes.   Cruz and group were struck in awe at Blade dumbness.  Once inside, the Pretty Squad leads Blade around Simeon.  Meanwhile, Eve gets a visit from Saten and a girl whom Eve attacks with an arm coming out of her stomach using her Doppleganger power.  Saten hits Eve and tells her that ten years was not enough to defeat him.  He called Kurumi the girl in the shadows and she uses her Black Attraction technique on Eve.  Outside, Disc constructs a plan to attack the Testament that was the furthest away from Ruri.  She instructs Teruyama to distract it while she access it’s data core using her probe to tame it.  The Testament catches Disc in the act, and goes to stomp her.  Teruyama holds off it’s attack while Disc continues her probe.  But Teruyama is failing.   Back in Simeon, the Pretty Girl Squad leads Blade to an overside play room where Eve is dropped from the ceiling and Blade is informed that if he beats the Pretty Girl Squad, they would let Eve go.  Blade takes on the challenge.

I am so guilty of liking this mindless show.  LOL  Small guilty pleasure.  Go figure.

Needless Ep. 7:  Adam Arclight

Mutant Crab-thingy?

Now he thinks he’s a God… -_-

 This episode 7 begins with Disc acting in such a way of “Intro-mercial” – introducing one’s self  as one of the main characters!  At Simeon, Arclight goes to visit Eve who momentarily regains her Doppelganger powers and drills a hole through Arclight’s chest.  The area closes and the scence fades with Arclight’s hand around Eve’s neck, she passes out, and the hole in his chest closes.

Blade and group is on their way to Simeon to rescue Eve.  The Pretty Girl Squad get in a contest with the Nanami two-girl-duo and the conquest was to go to the Governor’s mansion to steal a golden safe.  The Pretty Girl Squad wins and they would be part of the ceremony that Arclight arranged for all the Needless living in the Black Spot Area.  Blade and crew finally reaches Simeon and Gido suggest that they disguise themselves.  They brought out Holloween outfits.  -_-

More Fan Service with the Pretty Girl Squad.  Quite sure everyone has seen it, so…

During the ceremony, Arclight was interrupted by a Needless Resistance group who wanted to take Arclight down… they only got themselves devoured by Arclight when he reveals that he’s some kind of Crab thingy and then states he’s a god…

To go even further he picks a boy out of the crowd and the boy levitates to Arclight.  He states that the boy should become part of Simeon — through the way of being devoured that is.  Cruz is upset and asked Blade if he would help the boy.  He replied their sole purpose there was to rescue Eve.   Just as Cruz was reasoning with himself that rescuing Eve was the main focal point and all else didn’t matter, Arclight grabs a little girl from the crowd.

Now, stating the boy was just a casualty, Blade springs into action when the little girl was taken.  Ha… Lolicon Priest Blade; defender of the kawaii cute girls.  Doing such a stoopid act, he reveals himself to Arclight when he charges in to save the girl.  Fortunately for the little boy, he got save as well in the process.

Needless Ep. 6:  Goldilocks

I got Needless Powers too! ^_^

The Pretty Girl Squad with Eve as their hostage successfully leaves Iron Mountain.  After reporting in that they had secured a hostage, Setsuna instructs Kuchinashi to give Eve some medicine, as it would be troublesome for them if she woke up before they reach Simeon.  To their surprise, Eve had use her Doppelganger power and escaped.  Mio becomes frightened of what Riru wrath will be if they returned without the hostage.  In the distant, they see Eve running away and they give chase.  Eve, who used up a lot of calories shift changing, is famished.  Wondering what to do, she hears an explosion and sees a heavy weapon-laden mansion ahead of her and flees to it.  Back at Iron Mountain, Blade breaks down the current happenings:  Pretty Girl Squad kidnapped Eve by mistake because they thought they had Yamada [Cruz].  Cruz felt bad about it and Gido consoles him and states that they need to find a way to rescue Eve.

Blade and Teruyama wants to charge into Simeon without a plan, and Disc informs them both they are… idiots!  She tells the group that she was coming along.  Thus another ally has been added to the Group:

Disc: Scan Fragment

Disc informs them of her Fragment Scan and her powers can be used to detect the enemy’s abilities and physical data, along with all the information she collected in Iron Mountain.  Brauny Blade wanted to know if Disc could also detect the three sizes:  bust/waist/hip measurements of a woman.  Disc informs him that she could and both becomes [it seems] two peas in a pod! 

The group waits for Disc outside because she had to change into her outdoors clothes.  The perception they had of Disc was that she would be driving an iron machine… instead, she walks out looking like a little girl going out shopping and it blows Blade’s mind.  He wanted to know where she’s hiding the data and she unbuttoned her dress and flashes them.  Ha!  They planned to regroup back at the Church.

Back to the Pretty Girl Squad, Kuchinashi sniffs out Eve’s whereabouts at the mansion.  The Mansion, once occupied by Sergeant-Governor Kanematsu’s Army was used as a secret warehouse to guard the army’s assets during the war.  The manion is heavily boobie-trapped to which the girls does not think that is still operational.  But… once inside, they were shown just how wrong they were!  The Pretty Girl Squad goes in and they are not allow to bring any metal into the mansion.  Kuchinashi had to leave her Fragrance gun and Mio had to leave her thousand pound bear.  The chase begins as the Girls chases Eve through the mansion.  During the chase, the Pretty Girl Squad gets themselves into situation where Setsuna had to shed some clothes in order to save her comrades.

The rest that follows is pure fan service and a whole bunch of laughs. 

The Girls eventually catches up to Eve in the Kitchen where she drinks a Dero Doro Drinks and she gets her powers back… well, not really.  See, she had drank a Dero Doro Light which momentarily given her strength back.  The chase gives way again, and all the girls ends up in a room where there’s a big bank vault.   There had to be a certain weight [combined], this was detected by Setsuna: under the floor was a weight sensor and once again, more clothing had to come off.    Once they acquired the right weight, the vault opens to exposes bricks of gold.  Eve whom had used her Doppelganger power was clinging to the ceiling.  With her dwindling power, she falls on top of the Pretty Girl Squad and the girls get washed away by water cannon.  Thinking that the worse was over, the girls find themselves in a metal shoot, which turned out to be a cannon and they get shot into the air.

Back at the Church, Blade and the group sees a huge projection in the sky of Adam Arclight.  Arclight begins to introduce himself when he’s slapped in the face by flying naked girls…

In your face, Adam Arclight! LOL!!!

Adam was replaced with an bunny intermission and he comes back and tells all Needless that lives around the Black Spot, are invited the next day to an opening ceremony at the Simeon office erected by the Black Spot.  All who does not attend would be recognized as hostile and would be exterminated.  End of message.   Gido lets the group aware that Adam Arclight struck first before they could.

Riru forgave the girls and Eve is lock away in a room hooked up to tubes.

Needless Ep. 5:  Simeon’s Pretty Girl Squad

Best episode thus far!

 Episode 5 continues with Disc telling the group about the Adam Project and how Adam Blade is one of the failed experiments.  Eve finds it hard to believe and Teruyama states that the Info Dealer Disc had to be over 100 years old.  Gido recognizes her as a “Half-a cyborg,”   and Disc reveals that she had data dating back before Iron Mountain was built, as well as records from the entire post-war era.  Blade in disbelief that he is a clone, with all his dim-witted braun, turns to the group and asks What is the Second?!  Ha!  The group was floored!   Setsuna and Kuchinashi pinpointed Blade’s location and enters Iron Mountain while Disc plays a recording of who The Second was. 

After World War III, a Savior appeared that could create Fire and Water and could cure the Sick by reaching out his hand.  He carried shards which is now known as Fragments.  After that, he was referred to as the returned of God:  The Second.

The current Needless have all inherited his powers.  [The End]

With now understanding who The Second was, Disc was about to give the group the information they came for  — info on Simeon and Adam Arclight, when the alarms of the facility goes off.  On screen, Disc could see that two of the Pretty Girl Squad had invaded and she [Disc] dispatches her Testament Squad which was no match for Setsuna or Kuchinashi.   Disc activated the Emergency Defense System, but it would take some time for it to boot up.  Disc gives the group communicators and it was their responsibilities to slow up the Pretty Girl Squad until the system came online.  Eve encounters Setsuna and the two engaged in battle.  Setsuna reveals her fragment of Speed; while Blade encounters the non-speaking Kuchinashi who does battle with him using her fragment of Fragrance, a sweet smelling aroma that could paralyze the nervous system and the brain, and at the same time writes her messages to him on her pad.  Blade overcomes the scent by neutralizing it with his Memorization power and just when you think he’s going to attack her, his attack was… giving her  bouquet of roses and asking her out!  O_o  Of course he gets his lights punched out followed by a rejection.

I laughed so hard at this part.  So funny, I had to replay it a couple of times!  One of my online male buddies stated he couldn’t wait to say that line to someone.  O_O

Ahem… continuing….

While the fights went on, the defense system came on by walls separating the fighters.   Poor Teruyama gets caught in one and Blade instantly believed that he was dead  and Teruyama let him know he wasn’t!  Meanwhile, back at the center, Mio states that she had to go to the toliet and asked Cruz to escort her because she was scared to go by herself.  He takes her to the toliet.  Cruz begins to get an uneasy feeling about Mio and when she mentions his name, he didn’t recalled anyone calling him by Cruz when they first met.   While in thought, Mio reappears and asks him to hold her Teddy.  Cruz asked Mio why did she know his name and the minute Cruz takes the teddy, the weight of it floors him.  To which brings us to the third Pretty Girl:

Mio:  Needless Fragment:  Power

Mio knocks Cruz out and drags him towards the other Pretty Girls.  Eve sees this and ponders what to do.  Once meeting up and all the Pretty Girls are together, they’re about to take their leave when all of a sudden, there are now two Setsunas.  Both are trying to convince the other Pretty Girls that she was the real Setsuna until the fake one attacks Mio, and she jumps out of the way, and the punch landed on a pipe causing it to explode and steam escapes.  The three girls leaves Iron Mountain with a knock out Cruz in toke which was revealed that it wasn’t Cruz, but Eve who used her Doppelganger power.  She takes Mio hostage, and Kuchinashi attacks and it backfires on her, and Eve kicks the teddy at Setsuna knocking the wind out of her.  Feeling confident that she saves the day, little does Eve know that she didn’t!  Her misfortune was that the teddy landed on her head knocking her out.  A tied up Eve and the Pretty Girl Squad returns to Simeon.

One of the best I tell ya… LOL!

Needless Ep. 4:  Iron Mountain

Ack!  We’re off to Iron Mountain!

New discoveries in the episode 4 of Needless.  Like for instance:  The Adam Project.  Episode starts out with an entity in a solution not knowing exactly who or what it is and the scientists stating it, No. 78 was a failed experiment and that No. 79 was a sucess.  Up wakes Adam Arclight covered in sweat next to Riru.  He tells her that he doesn’t think his body is going to last much longer, and that the Needless Hunt needs to progress faster.   Back at the Church, Uchi- (ummm… excuse me) Teruyama tells the group about how the Needless Hunt began where he used to live and how alot of his comrades were killed.  He goes on to tell how Simeon and Adam Arclight were the culprits behind the Needless Hunt.  Adam was rumored to be a guy who had bad taste, acted as a Priest and wore a collar around his neck,  and lived in a church… Eve interrupts and tells that no one from Simeon would be living in a broken down church.  [LOL]  Cruz raises questions why Simeon and Arclight would be behind the N-Hunt and who exactly is Arclight.  Gido states that need more information.

Back at Simeon, Arclight is made aware of Adam Blade [Priest Blade] and that he was the perfect match for him.   Arclight has Saten brought to him and orders him to stop pursuing Priest Blade because he has the perfect body for Arclight.  Arclight asked Saten if he knew the whereabouts of Blade and he lied and said he didn’t.  Riru states that she would put the “Pretty Girl Squad” on the task.    Meanwhile, Teruyama leads the group in an underground tunnel (sewer?) to a communications box to connect with an individual only known as Disc, who knows everything about the Black Spot.  Before putting in the password, Teruyama wanted to be compensated, whereas, Gido pulls out his calculator and began calculating on the damage to the Church Teruyama caused fighting Blade in the last episode.  Well that was enough for him to ‘freely’ punched in the password.  Disc links on, and Cruz jumps in front of Teruyama and tells Disc that he wanted to know information on Simeon and Adam Arclight.  Disc tells them to come to Iron Mountain and they would receive the information they wanted.

On their trip to Iron Mountain, of course their usual high jinks ensued – where you have Brauny Blade and Firey Teruyama dancing over a well lit fire and cooking meat; Cruz admiring Blade and wonders if he had any weak spots where Eve informs him that his does with a long face.   Because the fire was too hot, the meat was burnt, and the two men begin to argue when all of a sudden they hear cries for help.  Looking over the cliff they’re on, they see a little girl carrying a teddy bear running away from bad guys.  Blade jumps off the cliff to help her.  He saves the day and the girl and Eve lets all know of his weakness:  Cutesy little girls!  LOL!  Funny, so funny…  They wanted to know why was she out by herself, and she claims to have amnesia.  Brauny Blade shelters her from the onslaught of questions.  Ha!  The group finally gets to Iron Mountain with the little girl who’s name is Mio in toke and once inside of the mountain they are pursue by Testaments.   Blade, Teruyama and Eve fights off the Testaments while Gido, Cruz and Mio escapes.  Cruz trips a trap and was about to fall in, when Mio (as small as she is) catches him by grabbing his leg and pulls him out.   The group finally reaches the center of operation of Iron Mountain to find that Disc, is a little girl and Blade turns all heart’s eyes and tail wagging.  She informs him that he is one of Adam’s Project  failed experiments – a human experiment to ressurect ”The Second“.   Outside the mountain, the Pretty Girl Squad  has shown up.

Needless Ep. 3:  Teruyama Momiji

There’s a new Needless in Town!

A client, Hishiyama arrives at the Simeon building escorted by a Testament entourage for a meeting.  He arrives early to have a chat with Arclight-sama regarding the “Tin Cans” production.  Arclight informs him that the ‘fragment’ project takes top priority.   Hishiyama informs him that he/they could not wait around for him or be concerned with babysitting Arclight’s expenses.

Meanwhile, Priest [Adam] Blade sings a “Yamada, food” tune.  Seems like he’s on the hungry side… doesn’t it?  Poor Cruz… not only does he get a name change, but he’s the groper, the cook and cleaner.  Ha!  As everyone sits at the table to eat, a stranger is approaching the church.  While everyone eats, Eve gives Cruz orders on where to clean.  One of the orders were to wash the church’s floors.  Gido feels sorry for Cruz to have been put in that position of taking care of cleaning.  While mopping the floors, Cruz notices the stranger entering the Confession booth and runs and tell Blade about it.  Blade wants to know why, and Gido informs him that he is a priest [afterall] and that he supposed to take confessions.  Blade enters the booth and the stranger tells him that he’s looking for someone name Adam and that he wears a collar.  Gido and Eve wants to see and hear the confession.  Once they hear that the stranger is looking for Adam, they automatically think the guy is from Simeon and that their secret location has been found out.  Eve and Cruz whispers to Blade to inform him that he does not know who Adam is.  Blade, in all his Braun glory, destroys the confession booth by kicking through the wall.  Blade asked who the hell are you? And the stranger henceforth become known as Teruyama Momiji, and he has a grudge against Adam.  Realizing that it was now an unsafe place to be, Gido instructs Eve to take Cruz and run to safety.  Blade and Teruyama fight it out — action style.

Meanwhile, the meeting is happening at Simeon where the focus is on how other countries wants a Needless sample and that when the bomb was drop in their own country, they don’t know where it came from, and the bombing had an ‘misfortune’ fortunate  [yea, I paraphrase that right] phenomenon happening:  the rise of Needless mutants.   Putting distance between the themselves and the church, Cruz mentions that he found it odd that the Needless Uten called Blade “Priest” and Teruyama called him “Adam.”  Eve smacks him in a way that only happens in Anime for not mentioning that key point  sooner and head back to the church with a stupified Cruz to follow behind.  The fight has escalated between Blade and Teruyama and he [Teruyama] brings out his ultimate technique, Vulcan Shock Ignition which Blade memorizes and the final take down was when Blade combine his own technique Kandata String along with the Shock Ignition, thus Kandata String in Vulcan Shock Ignition memorization.  [Only in the mind of the creator could such wording come about! :-p ]  This technique takes Teruyama down and it becomes known that he’s fighting the wrong Adam.  The Adam that he wanted was Adam Arclight, head of Simeon.  Once that’s known, Eve comes out of nowhere and attacks Teruyama causing Blade to use her as a baseball. 

Conclusion

When everything has settled down, Gido gives Teru-san a bill for all the damage in the church, he blames Blade, and now I’m going to introduce my very own Eve (Useless) Needless Power: To give one a name that she can easily remember!     Teruyama nows become known as Uchida!  Cruz is so elated that he calles Uchida his comrade!  Uchida fights to reclaim his former name Teruyama.  LOL!!!  In the midst of it all, the group is being watched by a Needless from Simeon(?) and Cruz picks up on it.

Needless: Downright Silly and I love it!!!

Once again… can we not tick folks off who’s addicted to Nicotine??! So… sat down today and without a thought, a clear mind, and no expectations, I watched:  Needless

My Impressions on this new Series:

I think it’s a riot!  Episode 1 and 2 had me in stitches with some of the scenes.  No directional storyline, no cohesive plot, just pure unadulterated gag comedy and I love it!  Needless is just one of those type of series that you don’t try to sit there and analyzed, nor pick it apart.  Just sit back, empty out your brains and laugh!  When I first viewed episode 1, I had a flashback of “Astro Fighter Sunred.”  Not comparing the two… just that I got a kick out of Astro Fighter Sunred, and I loved blogging on it.

Characters [Thus far -- being it's only 2 episodes in]:

Cruz:  Part of a resistance group who opposed the Group Simeon.  He and his sister were the only surviving members and she died saving him from one of Needless terminator machines called “Testament.”  He’s also called by the name Yamada by Eve in episode 1 and it seems like it’s going to stay with him.  LOL!!!!

 

Priest Blade:  Needless Power:  Zero Fragment.  All braun… period.

 

Eve:  Needless Power:  Doppelgänger.  A silly mess! Ha!

 

Gido:  Well, he’s the Sensei… (Professor, Doctor)  Now what action pack show doesn’t have one of those?

 

Anyhoo… After watching both episodes, I’m  really looking forward to the next one.   This show is just downright silly and I love it!    Totally recommend this series — provided that you don’t mind laughing your butt off!
