Yes, yes, yes… I know it’s been a couple of weeks since my last post.  However, like a anime blogger whom strayed from Animeville — momentarily, I have returned to make another post! 

I was reading a new translated manga that recently popped up on the scene called

Judge by TONOGAI Yoshiki [Published 2010],  I was soundly intrigued!  Basically Judge is about a game of a concealed murderer. 

Only two chapters has been translated thus far, it really caught my attention. 

–Not to move ahead of myself, of course… I’m tracking  down the info on the manga, and I came across some information that there is a prequel to this manga called

Doubt [Published 2007 – 4 Volumes + 1 Special – Complete] [Not licensed in US]

There’s a game going around Japan called ‘Rabbit Doubt’. The premise of the game is that all of the players are rabbits in a colony, and one amongst them is randomly chosen to be a wolf that infiltrated the group of rabbits. Every round, the wolf kills off a rabbit, and every round, the group tries to figure out which of the rabbits is actually a wolf in disguise. Sometimes the kids who play this game decide to meet up in person, and Yuu, Mitsuki, Rei, Hajime, Eiji, and Haruka have done just that. Unfortunately, one of them has decided to take on the mantle of the wolf and has already killed once. Who is the wolf, and can they be stopped before everyone meets a very unpleasant end?

  — Can I just say that this… manga… BLEW… MY… MIND!!!!!!! 

Like a junkie trying to get her manga fixed, I read the whole thing in one setting and my eyes was totally glued to the screen!  As I’m reading it, you have these high schoolers who are into this rabbit game called Rabbit Doubt and they been playing it for some time and some of the gamers decided to meet in person.  Apparently, the object of the game is to find the “wolf” or rather… the liar or killer of the game.

And from that point, it been one trip of events after another.  Yuu, Mitsuki, Rei, Hajime, Eiji, and Haruka are locked up in some facility and as they turn on one another because they are force to play the game, one by one they are being killed off. 

As I’m reading each chapter, I’m thinking the culprit is “this person” and then it’s speculated to “that person” and in the end, I simply was astounded when I found out who the real wolf was, and other surprises that popped up in Volume 4. 

This manga would WITHOUT A DOUBT MAKE A GREAT SERIES because of the plot and the twists and turns of the story itself.  Totally recommend this manga because it was really good, will definitely keep your attention, and if you’re into psychological horrors, then this will definitely be a good read!

Now on to Judge, since it’s only two chapters in I looking forward to reading more and then give my ‘rec’ for it.

Without further ado…

Alive – The Final Revolution – Tokyo and probably the world is on the cusp of being wiped out.  It all started with a large group of people committing suicide all over the world.  This phenomenal was called “Nightmare Week.”  Taisuke Kanou witnesses one of his classmates smiling before leaping to her death.  His best friend Hirose is framed for murder and the quiet lifestyle he used to have has been alter.  Nothing seems right anymore as more suicides continue, a vicious murderer appears and those who haven’t had suicide tendencies has become “Power Users”  — humans possessing supernatural powers and are divided into two groups:  one intending on bringing the destruction to humanity and the other trying to save it.  In the middle of this battle, Hirose is the ultimate prize.  Taisuke does whatever it takes to either save his friend or ultimately destroy him.

– In order for this to be made successfully, I feel that the series would have to follow the storyline of the Manga very closely, or the anime watcher would be slightly clueless and give it a bad review.  O.O

Super-Dreadnought Girl 4946 – Makoto Tobita made a promise that no matter what girl smiled at him, she would become his girlfriend.  Well, a 50-foot girl Mana-chan did just that, and now they’re the ultimate odd couple!   At the age of 5, Mana-chan and her family got into a car accident and her body was taken over by a alien.  Now the world is consume by aliens, monsters and Youkai and she is ‘Humanity’s Savior’.  Along with Tobita-kun by her side, she sets out to do battle with these creatures.  A comedy full of twists and turns of what it takes to make a misfit relationship work and all the funny stuff to go along with it!

–This would make a great series provided that the Ecchi factor doesn’t become the MAIN focal point!  (-3-)

XBlade -

Four years ago, a large scale disaster in Tokyo claimed two million lives. The remaining thirteen districts of the city were isolated into the Tokyo Barricade Zone. Morisaki Harumi, an unruly kid with great fighting strength, is his family’s sole survivor from the incident.

One day, in a traffic accident, Haru gets pulled into a world of violence and meets Mana, the girl who turned herself into an ancient sword.

—Full of action [which it’s been awhile since I’ve seen a really good action-packed series], this would make a great series as it’s fill with humans-changing-into swords, the supernatural, envy and the will will fight and of course a bit of comedic relief.  Totally recommend this! 

Suki-tte Ii na yo – Meet Mei Tachibana… your average high school girl who never had a boyfriend, never had friends and at the age of 16, nobody has never really heard the sound of her voice.  Mei’s fate changed when she threw a power kick and missed her target and kicked Yamato Kurosawa, the ever-popular boy in school.  That kicked must’ve rattled his brains a bit because Kurosawa-kun took an instant liking to Mei.  No longer able to hide in the shadows, Mei is brought into the light by Kurosawa when he declares that she’s his girlfriend!

–After the success of Kimi ni Todoke, this manga would make an excellent series because it’s full of slice-of-life experiences and I just wanna see it made into a series! 

and lastly,

Fujoshi Rumi – Hey c’mon… why not a story of a Fujoshi chick?!  >=)   Rumi is an female otaku who loves Yaoi and cosplay.  She has a bad habit of “Yaoing” her male classmates.  One of those classmates, Takahiro Abe likes Rumi-chan… however… Rumi-chan will only have a relationship with Abe-kun as a boy!  O.O

—Full of laughter and hijinks from the first chapter to the last chapter of Volume 3.  This manga will even make the “throw a Anti-Yaoi/Fujoishi Cross in your face person crack up with laughter. 

I would love, love, loooovvvveeeeeee to see this made into a series!!!!  I think the Yaoigyrl inside of me would just cry with joy!  T.T  LMAO!

So there you have it… my selections of Manga that would make good/great series!

So…  let’s begin:

Defense Devil:  This series is funny as well as on the genius side.  Kucabara was cast out of the Demon world with his little side kick that brings the humor because he’s main concern is that Kucabara collects the Dark Matter that he needs so they can go back home.  

Emerging:  What would you do if the person standing right next to you suddenly coughs and explodes in a mess of blood and phlegm?  There’s a nasty outbreak in Tokyo… First, the symptoms come off as having a cold; then the flu, next the body organ starts to break down and the finally end result, the body convulse and blood spews out from the mouth.   Ebola, or something more?  There is a race to find the answer as to what is going on and why Tokyo is an epicenter for this outbreak of an uncontrollable virus.

–The realism would definitely has to be the main focal point if this manga was made into an Anime Series.  Totally recommend it.  Two thumbs up!

Doll Star:  Got a secret that you’re hiding and a favorite stuff plushie?  Then stay away from Yugi Nonoka.  To everyone around her, they think she’s insane and totally detached from the world… however, she knows what deep dark secret you’re hiding.  This is great stuff!  Haven’t seen any updates lately, but if you can catch the couple of chapters that’s translated, give it a read!

Otomen:  What do you do when your father confesses that he wants to become a Woman and then walks out on the family?  To make matters worse, you are a guy that like all girly things!  Meet Asuka-kun.  He is a guy who’s totally into shoujo manga, cooking, sewing and has a love for frilly girly stuff.  Here’s the twist:  the girl he likes Ryo, is the total opposite:  can’t cook, is not into the girly stuff and is great at martial arts.  Her father wants her to bring him home as her potential bride after meeting him.  This would make an awesome series!

Shiki:  In a remote village located in the hills, the residence are dying at an alarming rate.  With only a population of 1,300 how long will it before something happens to all of them?  Everything started one hot summer with the arrival of a new family moving into a castle-like mansion on top of a hill.  The victims, the ones that succumbed to dying mysteriously, died of anemic-type symptoms and on their bodies they would have what appeared to be insect bites. 

Mourning a friend or a love one that passed and then they showed up in the middle of the night asking you to invite them in???  Plenty of twists and turns in this manga. But it’s great thus far!  

A lot of great manga are out there and can be made into super great series.
